Using smART proteinS to fight Cancer

SimeTRA's therapies are based on smart proteins that restore the ability of cancer cells to commit suicide (apoptosis). Particularly, SimeTRA is using drugs based on ARTS, a proprietary powerful pro-apoptotic protein. Its first products will be focused on treating Hematopoietic cancers (Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma). SimeTRA was founded by Dr. Sarit Larisch, head of the Apoptosis and Cancer Research Laboratory in Rambam Medical Center, who serves as the company’s CSO. The company operates under the auspices of a technological center in Israel focused in health care related technologies and is jointly funded by the technology center and the Israeli Chief Scientist Office. SimeTRA is currently raising funds to enable it to continue its preclinical R&D program and conduct phase I clinical studies.
